Path to Professional Certification

The Information Technology Auditing and Cyber Security MS supports career development by including a capstone course that prepares students for the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) one of the following professional certification exams.

  • The CISA certification demonstrates experience among information systems control, assurance and security professionals.
  • The CISSP certification demonstrates competency around identifying, analyzing and addressing cyber security risks.

This degree program can be completed with or without a concentration. Your concentration options include

  • Information Technology Auditing

    Learn to identify, analyze and address risks; assess information system security controls; and ensure alignment with strategic organizational goals and regulatory requirements. Gain expertise and skills while learning the tools and procedures for conducting external and internal IT auditing processes.

Classes & Curriculum

This 30-credit master’s program may be completed on a full- or part-time basis, with multiple entry points offered during the academic year. The program is offered in-person on Temple University’s Main Campus as well as online.  Its location in Philadelphia provides students with access to the benefits of city life and connections to leading organizations. 

The common core requirements comprise the following four courses.

  • Business Skills for ITACS Professionals
  • IT Governance
  • Protection of Information Assets
  • Security Architecture

Tuition rates are set annually by the university and are affected by multiple factors, including program degree level (undergraduate or graduate), course load (full- or part-time), in-state or out-of-state residency, and more. These tuition costs apply to the 2025–2026 academic year.
