Master of Science in Supply Chain Management

Form expertise in the planning and control of the flow of goods for a product or service with the Supply Chain Management Master of Science in the Fox School of Business at Temple University. Supply chain management is a growing and in-demand business function that is critical to companies across multiple industries, including food and beverage, healthcare, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, retail and transportation, among many others. This 30-credit master’s program is focused on preparing students to further their expertise and credentials in the operations and supply chain management field.

In the program, you will have the option to with one of three optional tracks: management information systems (MIS), analytics or managerial.

Supply Chain Management Program Goals 

As a student in the supply chain management master’s program, you will gain the following expertise. 

• A deep understanding of the diverse, underlying issues in supply chain management in an organization. 

• How to formulate solutions to a broad set of supply chain problems that are typically faced by organizations. 

• Address supply chain issues by identifying and collecting the data and information relevant to the problem at hand. 

• How to use the appropriate analytical models and solution techniques for supply chain problems, and how to extract managerial insights from these solutions. 

• The ability to communicate managerial insights in the proper organizational context and suggest appropriate action plans. 

Program Format & Curriculum 

The 30-credit Supply Chain Management MS is an online program offered on a part-time basis. The curriculum comprises 10 courses, including required and elective courses. Required courses include 

• Quantitative Methods for Business 

• Operations Management 

• Supply Chain Analytics 

• Supply Chain Logistics and Distribution 

• Strategic Sourcing and Procurement 

Students will complete two of the following three courses. 

• Lean, Six Sigma and the Science of Improvement 

• Project Management 

• Data Management and Analytics for Business 

Students who choose one of three tracks will complete the following courses. 

MIS Track (6 credits)

• Information Technology Management 

• Business Intelligence 

Analytics Track (6 credits)

Students must complete two classes from the following options.  

• Visualization: The Art of Numbers and the Psychology of Persuasion 

• Statistical Learning and Data Mining 

• Decision Models: From Data to Decisions 

• Data: Care, Feeding, and Cleaning in Python 

Management Track (6 credits) 

Students must complete two classes from the following options.
