Opportunities
Every year, Tyler students benefit from exposure to faculty and other scholars, artists, and arts professionals who are at the top of their fields. Students have the opportunity to work closely with individual faculty members while gaining a broad understanding of the scholarship of art history and the practice of arts management; to contribute to publications; to give talks at peer-reviewed venues; and to interact with rising artists and architects. Arts management students intern at local and regional arts organizations and can participate in activities of boards of these organizations.

Careers
Pursuing a graduate degree in art history or arts management, elevates students’ knowledge, skills and understanding of their discipline, preparing them for new job opportunities or career advancement. Students use what they have learned to build on their professional careers as dynamic thinkers and creative problem solvers.
The MA in Art History research track prepares graduates for the nation’s top doctoral programs as well as a variety of careers in museums, galleries, non-profits, archives, libraries and other institutions. The MA in Art History arts management track is a specialized degree pathway for students seeking to advance cultural practice, the production and presentation of art, and community building by becoming arts professionals, cultural organizers and leaders.
